National History Day in South Carolina


National History Day is an educational program for students in grades 4-12.* Students research and develop topics related to an annual theme and present their conclusions in exhibits, performances, documentaries, websites or historical papers.

* National History Day is divided into three divisions:

  • Senior Division: Grades 9-12
  • Junior Division: Grades 6-8
  • Youth Division: Grades 4-5 (offered only at the school level)

NEW! All entry forms for the District 8 regional contest must be submitted by Monday, February 15. All historical papers are due by Thursday, February 25.

NEW! All papers and entry forms for the District 5 regional contest must be submitted by Friday, March 12.
