Senior Final Schedule

February Update
Online registration is now available for all regions:   http://sc.nhd.org/

January Update
Be sure to "Like" us on Facebook to keep up with the latest and most up to date information about dates, annoucements etc. for NHD in South Carolina!  Please also encourage your students to find us on Facebook.  It is open for students and teachers to post, etc. so please share your feedback, school results, pictures, etc.  All announcements will be posted here.  Also, the NHD.sc.gov  website will be updated this week with much of this information as well as additional links.

I know many of you are wondering why we have moved the State Contest from Columbia to Lake City and the reason is that we have lost the space in the Archives & History Center.  It has been rented to other state agencies for permanent office space and we no longer have access so we had to make other arrangements. Sherri Moore at the Bean Market Facilities and her Board of Trustees have generously gifted us the building to use for the State Contest.

2013 Nationals (College Park MD June 9-13)

Registration will be on-line this year for Regionals, just like we did last year for State and Nationals.  Links will be posted here, on Facebook and via email and will open for all regions on February 1st.  Registration for Regionals will close 1 week prior to the contest date so PLEASE do not wait until the last minute to register.  Registration for State will open on March 15th and will close April 1.  Should you register after April 1st for State, there will be a late fee of $25 per student.  For students with papers or website projects, you will need to contact your Regional Coordinator to find out if they require early deadlines for submission of those projects.  Any updates regarding this matter will also be posted online and on the Facebook page.

Judges
We are in need of judges at ALL of the contests so please share with your colleagues, friends, families, etc.  Please contact me or your Regional Coordinator if you are available.

I encourage you to all visit http://www.nhd.org/ for any refreshers, help with relating the students' topics to this year's theme....Turning Points in History--People Events Ideas
