District Coordinators Information
There will always be at least three levels of competition in National History Day: district, state, and national competitions. Some schools, with high student participation, may choose to have a school-wide competition before the district level.
South Carolina is divided into eight competitive districts. The districts are made of the following counties.
District 1: Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester
District 2: Calhoun, Lexington, Newberry, Richland, and Sumter counties
District 3: Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, Edgefield, Greenwood, McCormick, Orangeburg, and Saluda counties
District 4: Anderson, Greenville, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg counties
District 5: Cherokee, Chester, Chesterfield, Kershaw, Lancaster, Marlboro, and Union counties
District 7: York County
District 8: Clarendon, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Lee, Marion, and Williamsburg counties
