Clarity of Presentation Questions

Different questions are applicable to each category:

1.  Historical Paper:

  • Is the paper - written material - original, clear, appropriate, organized, well presented?
  • Is the text clear, grammatical, and spelled correctly? Is the entry neatly prepared?

2.  Exhibit, Performance, Documentary:

  • Is the presentation, written material original, clear, appropriate, organized, articulate?

3.  Documentary:

  • Is the entry organized?
  • Is the visual Impact/documentary category appropriate to the topic?

4.  Performance:

  • Do the performers show good stage presence?
  • Are props, costumes historically accurate?

5. Exhibit:

  • Is entry organized with good visual impact? Does it correctly use maps, photos, etc.?

These questions are fairly self-explanatory. Nowhere here do the phrases "is it cute?" or "is it fancy?" appear. Remember: a good, clear presentation supports your research, analysis, interpretation, theme relationship, etc. You should give a lot of attention to clarity of presentation but remember that without historical quality or theme relationship, a fancy entry in and of itself will not do well.
