Conclusion:


Set deadlines for all the major steps of the research process and project development. Give credit to students who meet the specific due dates. Evaluate each completed step. Specific deadlines include:

  1. Completion of secondary source bibliography with a list of research questions and working thesis statement
  2. Completion of primary source bibliography
  3. Completion of first draft of project - a first try at an exhibit, performance, documentary, or historical paper
  4. Completion of process paper and annotated bibliography
  5. Participation in first level of National History Day - either school or regional contest
